Analysis of the involvement of professional administrators and its impact on academia.


General Objetive

GO: To examine the changes brought about by the participation and influence of the ‘third space’ in academic management, and its effects on the organisation of academic work and the power of the academic profession in Chilean universities.

Specific Objetives

SO1: Characterise and classify professionals in the 'third space', considering their influence on academic management at senior and intermediate levels.

SO2: Analyse the changes experienced through the participation and influence of the 'third space' in academic management, considering its effects on jurisdiction over academic functions and power relations between professional administrators and the academic profession.

SO3: Describe the coordination mechanisms that regulate interaction between the 'third space' and academics within the field of academic management, recognising the tensions that arise between them regarding the organisation of academic work.

SO4: Propose public policy guidelines and institutional orientations that facilitate a positive relationship between the 'third space' and academics within Chilean universities.
